Kelly Clarkson made her big announcement!!!!

After a week of build-up on Facebook Live, the singer revealed the news she’s been teasing. If you haven’t guessed it already, she’s officially joined Atlantic Records and she’s releasing a ‘soulful’ album!

All of the artists she covered last week — including Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding — were Atlantic artists. Kelly’s American Idol record contract with RCA ended after the release of 2015’s Piece by Piece, and this marks the first time in her career that she was able to choose her own record label.

In addition, Kelly announced that her first release with Atlantic will be a soulful album coming in 2017.

“I’m so excited cause they want to make the album that I’ve been dying to make since I was a kid and since I was on Idol… everybody’s been asking me to make a soulful record for years. While we’ve always had soulful influences on my records, we’ve never actually made a soulful record. That is what Atlantic Records and I are about to do.”

She then performed another soul-tinged cover, of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me,” before coming back with even more news.

Kelly has also launched a brand-new website for her fans, KellyClarksonLive.com. Four free downloads of some of her fan-requested covers are available on the site now, and she’ll post new goodies for fans the last Friday of every month.
