You have flowers and chocolate ready but, the secret to a good Valentine’s Day is having the perfect music!  The CHFI family picked out their favourite songs for Valentine’s Day, to set you up with music that will fill your heart with warm fuzzies. Check them out below!

Darren Osborne’s Fave: Praying for Time by George Michael

“My choice would have to be George Michael’s PRAYING FOR TIME….in my estimation, THE most beautiful, and emotional song ever! (ok, at LEAST top 5, tho, right?) I can’t HELP but be emotional, when I hear the song, and for me, it’s a song that makes me wish I had (have) someone to share it with. Just sit, and  hold each other, and be hopeful for the future, together…weird, right?” – Darren Osborne

Stefanie Canonico’s Fave: All of Me by John Legend

“My favourite song for Valentine’s Day is ALL OF ME by John Legend. For me, it’s the ultimate love song. It encompasses all the emotions within a relationship and no matter what, no matter how hard, through all obstacles…true love always prevails. John Legend is a master at love songs and ALL OF ME shows the raw, pure, passionate, knock-you-to-your-knees power that real love can have over us. If you’re able to find it, never let it go!” – Stefanie Canonico

Darren B. Lamb’s Fave: Afternoon Delight by Starland Vocal Band

“My favourite song for Valentines Day is: “Afternoon Delight” by The Starland Vocal Band..(go ahead, judge if you like)…but the song has everything!

A ground search:   “Gonna find my baby gonna hold her tight”…

A lesson on living in the moment: My Motto’s always been when its right its right, why wait until the middle of a cold dark night.

Food for thought: Thinking of ya’s working up an appetite.

Outdoor survival tactics:  Rubbing sticks and stones together make the sparks ignite.

And most of all, a show! Sky Rockets in flight, afternoon delight.

Does any other song come close to measuring up?

This was featured in Anchorman!

Say no more…

Happy Valentines Day”

– Darren B. Lamb

Michelle Butterly’s Fave: Brick House by The Commodores

“Brickhouse by the Commodores because it was my wedding song…actually my first dance started with Embraceable by Nat King Cole…

….and then we had the sound effect of a record scratch into BrickHouse.  Fun.”  – Michelle

Mo’s Fave: Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran

“My favourite song for Valentine’s Day is Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. It captures the way you feel when you’re falling in love, and how you think the feeling will last forever. Sometimes it does, sometimes it turns into something else, sometimes it disappears, but there’s nothing like that first realization that this could be the one. Happy Valentine’s Day.” – Mo

Christine Cardoso and Tish Iceton’s Fave: Let’s Stay Together by Al Green

“I’m going old school for this: Al Green “Let’s Stay Together”. From the very first note, that song says love. It’s got a groove quite like no other, meaningful lyrics, and it’s one of those rare songs that I can hear over and over again that never gets boring. Groovy, meaningful and never boring; those are good ingredients for a happy relationship, too!” – Christine Cardoso

“This is tough for me.  But if I had to pick one song it would be Al Green ‘Let’s Stay Together’.  It is a soul classic. Al’s voice glides over the words like velvet.  Countless movie producers have used it as the go-to song for romance in their movies for good reason, it’s a timeless love song.” – Tish Iceton

Ian MacArthur’s Fave: More Than Words by Extreme

“My favourite song for Valentine’s Day is More Than Words by Extreme. It’s perfect in its stripped down simplicity. Just a couple of guys and a guitar.
I remember trying to learn that song on guitar – to play for my then-girlfriend, Anita. I spent 3 hours stopping and starting the CD trying to figure out the chord progression so I could sing it to her. I guess it worked cause we’ve been married now for 22 years!!” – Ian MacArthur

Gord Rennie’s Fave: To Make You Feel My Love – The Garth Brooks Version

“My favourite song for Valentine’s day is. The Garth Brooks version of “To Make You Feel My Love”. It was on the Hope Floats soundtrack and more importantly I printed out the lyrics to this song and gave it to my now fiancée,  Dawn on Valentine’s Day years ago.” – Gord Rennie

Darryl Henry’s Fave: I Turn To You by Christina Aguilera.

“This was a song my lovely wife and I fell in love with when we were dating, and so we made it our first dance at our wedding. Here’s a sample line:
For a shield from the storm, for a friend, for a love to keep me safe and warm, I turn to you.  It wasn’t a huge hit for her, but it did get airplay.  Somewhat underrated if you ask me, but I’m biased!” – Darryl Henry
