We’ve been seeing this Christmas tradition all over social media.
People are putting a Pickle Christmas ornament on their Christmas tree!
However, this isn’t a new trend.
In fact, it’s Christmas tradition that dates back to the 1800’s.
The tradition originated in Germany, it’s called Weihnachtsgurke.
The pickle would be the last ornament put on the tree, it would be hidden.
The first child to find the pickle would get a special surprise from Santa, for being extra observant.

It's way more challenging than you'd think, because the green pickle blends in so well with the Christmas tree. Also, the way we play is that, as you find the pickle, you don't tell where it is. To his brother's delight, me and my cousin are always the last to find it.
