This is not an April Fool’s joke!!

Post Malone has announced that he’s recording a double country album.

According to Billboard, the new album is set for release sometime towards the end of the year, and will feature Dwight Yoakam’s backing band, however no additional details have been revealed.

In a statement, citing Johnny Cash as one of his primary musical influences, Post said that his new project will have a little something for everybody:

“I wanted to create something everybody can get down to. People who like country will like it.”

He added, “People who like folk will dig it. Even people who like pop will be into it.”

Recently Republic Records’ Monte Lipman had this to say about Posty:

“Some day he’s going to come with a country album.”

Stay tuned!
