5 Things to do in the GTA This Weekend

By Nicolina Moscati

This long weekend is jam-packed with events celebrating Easter around Toronto. There is also an amazing event to celebrate Ramadan! Have some family fun this long weekend, and:

1. Hunt for Easter eggs and watch the parade

The Toronto Beaches Lions Club is running a variety of Easter programming this weekend. On Friday April 15th, help save the Easter Bunny’s eggs by participating in the interactive Easter Egg Hunt, with clues on your phone to help you find your way in-person. On Sunday April 17th at 2:00pm, watch the parade along Queen St. E for free.

2. Break your fast in the 6

Fast in the 6 is a free evening of food, fun and fireworks, in the spirit of Ramadan that celebrates the diversity of Toronto and the common experience of breaking the fast. Along with free meals being handed out, there will be a variety of food trucks and live performances including Tyler Shaw! Get to Nathan Phillips Square at 7:00pm so you don’t miss any of the action.

3. Satisfy your sweet tooth with Lindt

This year is the 70th anniversary of Lindt’s Gold Bunny. To celebrate, Gold Bunny-branded cars will be visiting 70+ locations in Ontario over the course of 10 days, giving out 200,00+ samples! To see the next planned locations, see @Lindtcanada on Instagram.

4. Go on an adventure to Dino Park

Dino Park is a new immersive walk-thru experience with animatronic life size dinosaurs, carnival rides, games, food and more. There are games and rides for anyone of any age at Dino Park, located at the Lawrence Allen Centre in North York. Tickets are available online or at the door.

5. Enjoy family fun at Easter Fun Fest

Check out the indoor and outdoor family festival Easter Fun Fest at Markham fairgrounds this weekend. Attractions include jumping castles, kiddie midway, pony rides, arcade games, mini putt, easter egg hunts, live entertainment and much more. The festival runs April 15 to 18 from 10:00am-6:00pm daily.
