CARIBANA TORONTO 2022: NORTH AMERICA’S LARGEST CARIBBEAN CARNIVAL IS BACK!

Toronto’s Caribbean Caribana festival has grown exponentially since its start in 1967 and is currently North America’s largest cultural festival. What was once a three-day event has now grown into three weeks of celebration, absorbing most of the city with its infectious feel-good vibes. Over a million tourists are expected in Toronto during the August long weekend to experience everything Caribana has to offer. The beauty of Caribana in Toronto is the varied audience it attracts: everyone from families across Canada and the U.S, young singles looking for a good time, to celebrities throwing Caribana themed parties in clubs across Toronto. Don’t forget about the main attraction of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival – the grande parade! This highly anticipated Caribana event takes place on Saturday of the long weekend and draws in over 1 million visitors and Toronto residents annually. This cultural event is by far the biggest and most important in Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival. You won’t want to miss it! Grand Parade – Toronto Caribbean Carnival @ EXHIBITION PLACE & LAKESHORE BOULEVARD

Saturday July 30th the road becomes the stage for the masqueraders and steelpan performers. It truly is something you can’t miss. Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s Grande Parade continues to attract local, regional, national, and international attention by visitors and media as it is the highlight of the three-week Festival. This event continues to draw millions from all over the world to see the live performing street art year after year and on live streaming.  After months of preparation the city welcomes, masqueraders in colourful and striking costumes as they wind their way from the assembly area at Exhibition Place along Lake Shore Boulevard. Although most of the parade is free, admission applies to Exhibition Place where patrons have the opportunity to enjoy the parade of the Mas Bands. Masquerade bands end up in Exhibition Place where masqueraders can party until 6PM.

The Beach Walking Tour

The best way to get to know The Beach neighbourhood is on foot, with a local guide. This will be a FREE, public walking tour. It will be a good experience for curious locals, solo travelers, backpackers, small groups of friends, or newcomers.
Beginning at the Toronto Public Library – Beaches Branch, your guide Alex Rascanu will tell you about The Beach neighbourhood’s history and show the Kew Gardens, the Kew and Balmy Beaches, a number of heritage buildings, and the historic 15-21 Glenfern Ave apartment building. The tour will conclude at the popular Remarkable Bean Coffee and Tea.  Saturday, July 30th, 2022 starting at 9:00am, the tour will last approximately 90 minutes.  WHERE TO MEET: The walking tour will start in front of the Toronto Public Library – Beaches Branch (2161 Queen St. E., Toronto).   WHERE IT ENDS: This tour will end at the Remarkable Bean Coffee and Tea (2242 Queen St. E., Toronto), where you can enjoy good local coffee, tea or baked goods.

Toronto Black Vegan Festival 2022

A Vegan Feast of Delicious African and Caribbean Foods! Pedestrian Sundays in Kensington Market

Pedestrian Sundays Kensington Market hosts thousands of people from across the GTA at each of its events and is celebrating its 18th year as Toronto’s Neighbourhood Festival.
