University of Michigan study conducted between 2015 and 2020 show children are dogs’ best friend!

Children between two and three years old are twice as likely to help a dog get a treat or a toy…and children were more likely to help a dog if they lived with a dog themselves.

The results show that children as young as two can understand when another animal is trying to achieve a certain goal…like getting their paws on a treat.

“They are not only able to read the goal-directed behavior of another animal but can and do employ that knowledge to help an animal reach its own goal,” lead scientist Dr. Rachna Reddy said.
