We know every dollar COUNTS these days so Pooja & Gurdeep challenged a Toronto Nutritionist Terence to help us create a recipe that could feed a family for $20 bucks!
Lentil Bolognese Recipe serves 6 and takes about 1 hour to create:

Ingredients
-1/4 cup of olive oil
-1 yellow onion
-2 garlic cloves (peeled and chopped)
-1 celery stalk (chopped)
-1 carrot (finely chopped)
-2 cans of crushed tomatoes
-500 grams of cooked lentils
-salt & pepper to taste
-pappardelle or spaghetti

Method
1. in a large pot, heat olive oil
2. add onions and garlic over medium heat until soft and slightly browned
3. add celery and carrot, then sauté for 5 minutes
4. add tomatoes, salt and pepper cooking over medium-low heat. Allow to simmer until sauce thickens; this will take at least 30 mins
5.once thickened add cooked lentils and allow to simmer briefly for the flavors to incorporate – 3 mins
6. add sauce to your desired cooked pasta; pappardelle or spaghetti is recommended.
