I want you to think back to when you were in Grade 7 or Grade 8 for just one moment.

When I look back, I was a mess. Sure, I did well in school, but the most that I could well was shoot a ball into a net, which is a skill in it of itself, but not something I was particularly good at.

Now, I want to introduce you to the incredibly talented students from Holy Trinity Catholic School in Etobicoke who stopped by our Radio Café for a special performance.

The students showcased their new instruments that were purchased with the support of MusiCounts, which is an organization that provides funding for music programs and instruments at schools that need it the most.

Rogers is a proud supporter of MusiCounts and it is through that support that MusiCounts have supplied school across Canada with nearly $100,000 in instruments via the MusiCounts Band Aid Program.

Kiss 92.5’s Jax played host for this morning’s celebration and she spoke to the importance of music and organizations such as MusiCounts, which help support music education in schools.

She then brought to the stage, Kristy Fletcher, the Executive Director of MusiCounts, who took time to tell us more about why MusiCounts is important.

We were then introduced to the Principal of Holy Trinity Catholic School, Julia Aube who expressed gratitude to MusiCounts and Rogers for their continued support with music education. She would then bring together the two men directly responsible for teaching these talented students, Mr. Simoes and Mr. Michaels!

Watch the Holy Trinity Catholic School band perform songs from Journey and even Star Wars.

You could see the passion that these kids have for music right on the faces of their teachers and it really was beautiful to watch.

To continue their support, Rogers announced an additional $20,000 to MusiCounts, much to the delight of the students.

It was a wonderful morning and a great performance from the students.

It made me wish I was back in jazz band again!
