The Original Santa Claus parade is coming to town this Sunday, November 18th and we have some tips and tricks to help you and your family parade like a pro!

  • Avoid traffic and finding parking, and take public transit. Union Station is just steps away from the parade route. Round trip GO Transit fares can be purchased in advance by clicking here. Adult fares are just $15 and Partner Passes (2 adults) are available for just $25! Kids 12 and under ride free on Parade Day! Visit https://www.gotransit.com/en/trip-planning/seeschedules for schedule details and to plan your trip!
  • If you’re driving in, plan ahead to avoid road closures and map out different parking options.
  • Arrive early, as spots are sure to fill up fast.
  • If you have small children, or plan on drinking lots of hot chocolate to keep warm, it’s also a good idea to pick a spot along the parade route with lots of options for public washrooms.
  • Dress Warm, and pack lots of layers. The parade is about 2.5 hours from start to finish and the temperature can change during that time.
  • Bring a backpack. If your family needs to take off a few layers, it’s always good to have something to carry them in.  It’ll also come in handy for all of the goodies you pick up along the way!
  • Bring a Thermos of Hot Coco and plenty of snacks that are easy to eat with mittens on, and won’t leave a sticky mess.
  • If sticky messes are inevitable in your family, be sure to pack some hand wipes or baby wipes to avoid being caught in a sticky situation
  • Bring Lawn Chairs, at least for the littles, and blankets so you can cozy up to your loved ones while taking in the magic of the parade
