Today is Earth Day! Normally, there would be hundreds of events that would be taking place across the globe, however, due to the pandemic, many events have gone virtual this year.

You can find some of those events here:

Earth Day Canada – Jour de la Terre Canada – April 22 & Every Day !

What about celebrating Earth Day on a smaller scale at home today?

Here are a few ideas:

-Walk or bike somewhere instead of driving.

-Plant a tree! (If it’s too early for this, do some research on what kind of tree may thrive in your yard and pick one up when the nurseries open.)

-Plan your garden and think about incorporating bee-friendly plants and flowers.

-Start some seedlings and get ready to grow your own fruits & vegetables this summer.

-Go for a walk around your neighborhood and pick up litter.

-Fix that leaky faucet in your home.

-Have the kids make some bird feeders (you just need bird seed, coconut oil or peanut butter and pine cones).

-Support a local business that offers bulk products, no-waste packaging, eco-friendly products or a refillery!

-Support your local farmers market or farm!

Happy Earth Day!
