A new survey finds that hipster hair could be a beacon for bacteria…here’s why…

 

Microbiologists tell the Daily Mail in the UK that beards harbour more germs because facial hair is courser than other hair, so it traps dirt and germs easily.

Scientific evidence shows that beards can spread infections, says Dr Ron Cutler, of Queen Mary, University of London.

He says it’s important for fuzzy-faced men to wash and groom their facial hair regularly and ensure the area under the hair hasn’t become sore from ingrown hairs.

Scientists say the proximity of your beard to your nose and mouth means that germs can spread quickly if they aren’t kept clean.
